Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang
Lead Pastor
Rev. Chonfong (Txoos Foom) Paul Yang’s life is a powerful testimony of God’s redeeming grace and transforming love. Born into a family practicing animism and raised as an atheist, his life took a remarkable turn when he encountered Jesus Christ and experienced the gift of salvation. Renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit, he has devoted his life to passionately proclaiming the Gospel and helping others discover the hope found in Christ.
He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Compassion Chapel in Maplewood, Minnesota, and is actively involved in the Hmong District’s Church Ministry leadership team. Through pastoral coaching, mentoring, and leadership development, he is committed to strengthening local churches and equipping ministry leaders to serve effectively.
With a heart for discipleship and a passion for raising up the next generation, Rev. Yang desires to see believers firmly grounded in God’s Word, boldly living out their faith, and reaching others with the Gospel.
Beyond ministry, his greatest joy is his family. He and his beloved wife, Ly, have shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they are blessed with five children—four daughters and one son—and six precious grandchildren. Seeing their family grow in faith and follow Jesus remains one of their greatest blessings and a lasting legacy of God’s faithfulness.

Rev. Nom Lauj (Lor) Thao
Associate Pastor
Rev. Lor Thao (Kx Nom Lauj Thoj) has been a devoted pastor within the Hmong District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) since 2015.
Rev. Lor began his pastoral journey in Minnesota at United Hmong Alliance Church, where he first answered God’s call to shepherd His people. He then served for six years as Senior Pastor of DFW Hmong Alliance Church in Dallas–Fort Worth, nurturing spiritual growth and strengthening the church community. Later, he helped plant True Life Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, guiding it to become a thriving, Spirit-filled congregation.
Currently, Rev. Lor and his family are faithfully serving at Compassion Chapel, carrying the same passion, devotion, and commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom that have marked his ministry from the start.
