Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang
Lead Pastor
Rev. Chonfong (Txoos Foom) Paul Yang was born into a life shaped by animism and atheism but found redemption as a follower of Jesus Christ. He serves as the Lead Pastor of Compassion Chapel in Maplewood, MN, and as the Area Director for Area 4 of the Hmong District, overseeing 14 churches across Minnesota. In addition, he is a member of the Hmong District’s Church Ministry leadership team, providing coaching, mentorship, and support in various ministry capacities.
Rev. Yang has been joyfully married to his wife, Ly, for 34 years. Together, they are blessed with five children (four daughters and one son) and four grandchildren, all of whom love and follow Jesus.

Rev. Nom Lauj (Lor) Thao
Associate Pastor
Rev. Lor Thao (Kx Nom Lauj Thoj) has been a devoted pastor within the Hmong District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) since 2015.
Rev. Lor began his pastoral journey in Minnesota at United Hmong Alliance Church, where he first answered God’s call to shepherd His people. He then served for six years as Senior Pastor of DFW Hmong Alliance Church in Dallas–Fort Worth, nurturing spiritual growth and strengthening the church community. Later, he helped plant True Life Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, guiding it to become a thriving, Spirit-filled congregation.
Currently, Rev. Lor and his family are faithfully serving at Compassion Chapel, carrying the same passion, devotion, and commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom that have marked his ministry from the start.
