Step Forward in Faith
Step Forward in Faith (Mark 3:1–5)
In Mark 3:1–5, Jesus enters a tense synagogue where a man with a withered hand is present and religious leaders are watching closely to accuse Him. Instead of avoiding confrontation, Jesus calls the man to “rise into the middle” and commands him to stretch out his hand. The healing happens not before obedience, but as he obeys. Meanwhile, the Pharisees remain silent and hardened, missing the move of God happening right in front of them.
This passage reveals a powerful contrast between stubborn resistance and surrendered faith. The man’s weakness becomes the stage for divine restoration, while hardened hearts walk away unchanged.
Big Idea:
When Jesus calls us forward, surrendered obedience releases His restoring power—but stubborn resistance leaves us unchanged.
The message challenges us to examine where we may be hesitating and reminds us that breakthrough often begins with one courageous step of faith.
