FAITHFULNESS IN THE EVERYDAY MARRIAGE

Aug 16, 2026    Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang

Faithfulness matters because marriage is a covenant witnessed by God. Malachi 2:13–16 reminds us that God cares not only about our worship at church but also about how we live out our commitments at home. Faithfulness is more than avoiding adultery; it means guarding our hearts, honoring our spouse, protecting our relationship, and keeping the promises we made.

Marriage will experience changing feelings, difficult seasons, and unexpected challenges, but covenant faithfulness chooses to remain committed. The wedding begins with “I do,” but a faithful marriage continues by saying “I still do” every day.

As God remains faithful to us, we are called to reflect His character in our marriages. Remember your covenant, guard your heart, and remain faithful.

Big Idea

Marriage is a God-witnessed covenant, so faithfulness is not merely avoiding adultery. It is daily cherishing the covenant, protecting the heart, and remaining faithful to the spouse God has entrusted to you.
