Winning the Battle Within You

You will only win the right battles when you fight them God’s way—through prayer, perception, and proclamation.

SUMMARY

John 18 reveals that every believer is in a spiritual battle, but not every believer is fighting the right one. Jesus models the path to victory: He prays before the battle, He perceives and stands on the Word of God in the battle, and He proclaims the truth of God even when the battle intensifies. In contrast, Peter collapses because he fights without prayer, without understanding, and without truth. 

The crowd rejects Jesus because they refuse to accept truth. But Jesus wins the ultimate battle by giving His life for sinners like Barabbas—and like us. When we pray first, perceive God’s Word, and proclaim God’s truth, we step into the battles God has called us to fight and walk in the victory He has already secured.
