EMPOWERED TO GO FORWARD

Apr 19, 2026    Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang

In Acts 1:8, Jesus calls His followers to move from passive belief to active mission by promising the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is not given for comfort, but to empower believers to become bold witnesses—starting where they are and extending to the ends of the earth. As seen in the early church and in our own journey at Compassion Chapel, God is actively moving, growing His people, and sending them forward. Every believer is qualified by their encounter with Christ and sustained by His presence, even through challenges. We are called not to remain stagnant, but to live as a flowing river—publicly sharing our faith, stepping beyond comfort, and participating in God’s mission.

Big Idea

The Spirit empowers forward mission—faith does not stay internal, it goes public. The Spirit fills us not for comfort, but for commission.
