FAITHFULNESS IN OUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH OCT 4 2026
Faithfulness in Our Spiritual Growth teaches that the Christian life is not simply about being saved—it is about continually growing to become more like Jesus through the sanctifying work of God. From 2 Peter 1:3–11, Peter reminds us that God has already provided everything we need for life and godliness, but we must faithfully respond to His grace.
Using G.R.O.W., the sermon challenges believers to:
G — Get into God’s Word: Feed your spiritual life with God’s truth.
R — Respond in Obedience: Put what God teaches you into practice.
O — Open Your Life to the Holy Spirit: Surrender every area so He can transform you.
W — Walk It Out Daily: Pursue consistent growth rather than occasional spiritual experiences.
Some Christians may be like a living tree that has stopped growing—there is life, but something is hindering their spiritual development. Others may be like an artificial tree—looking spiritually alive outwardly but never having experienced new life in Christ. The invitation is therefore both to receive new life in Christ and to faithfully grow in Christ.
Big Idea
God has given us everything we need for spiritual life, and He calls us to faithfully cooperate with His sanctifying work as we grow more like Christ.
Key Challenge:
Don’t just grow older in Christ—grow deeper in Christ.
