Chosen for Compassion Chapel (Membership)

Jan 18, 2026    Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang

“You Are Chosen for Compassion Chapel” is a biblical call to understand that church membership is not optional, cultural, or administrative—it is spiritual and covenantal. Rooted in passages like Acts 2, Ephesians 4, and 1 Corinthians 12, this message explains that believers are commanded to belong to a local body where they are shepherded by defined leadership, known as identifiable members, and strengthened through mutual accountability. Church membership provides protection from doctrinal confusion, stability in cultural pressure, and maturity beyond emotional faith. At Compassion Chapel, belonging means sitting at the table of fellowship, serving with purpose, and recognizing that every member is essential to the mission Christ has entrusted to this church.

This sermon challenges believers to move from attendance to commitment, from preference to participation, and from independence to covenant community.

Big Idea

Christ does not save us to stand alone—He places us in a local church where we belong, grow, and fulfill His mission together.

Or more directly for Compassion Chapel:

You are not here by accident—Christ has placed you in Compassion Chapel to belong, be formed, and help carry His mission forward.
