Trusting Jesus with Empty Jars

Apr 8, 2026    Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang

In John 2:1–11, Jesus performs His first miracle at a wedding in Cana, turning water into wine and revealing His glory. What began as a moment of lack and potential shame became a powerful display of Christ’s transforming power. Through this passage, we see that Jesus meets us in our emptiness, calls us to obedient faith, and transforms what we surrender into something abundant and life-giving.

The lesson reminds us that when we bring our “empty jars” to Jesus and trust Him, He not only meets our needs but reveals His glory through our lives.

Big Idea:

When we trust Jesus with what seems empty, ordinary, or insufficient, He reveals His glory by transforming it into something abundant and extraordinary.
