LESSON 15: RISE AND WALK | Sawv thiab Taug Kev

In John 5:1–15, Jesus meets a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. The man had spent years waiting beside the Pool of Bethesda, hoping for healing. But Jesus showed him that his hope was not in the pool, another person, or the right opportunity—his hope was in Jesus.

Jesus asked him, “Do you want to get well?” and then commanded him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” The man responded in faith and obedience. The mat that once carried him was now carried by him. His healing became a picture of transformation.

This passage reminds us that Jesus sees us, is greater than our obstacles, calls us to trust His Word, and invites us to move forward in obedience. We should not allow our past struggles, excuses, fears, or old ways of living to keep us on the mat when Jesus is calling us to rise and walk.

Big Idea

Jesus calls us to rise in faith, obey His Word, and leave behind what once kept us stuck.

Remember R.I.S.E.: Recognize that Jesus sees you. Identify what is keeping you stuck. Stand on the Word of Jesus. Exit the old way of living.

Rise. Leave the mat behind. Walk forward with Jesus.
