Witnesses to the Light
Feb 4, 2026 • Rev. Chonfong Paul Yang
In John 1:6–13, the Apostle John introduces John the Baptist as a man sent from God to bear witness to the true Light—Jesus Christ. Though not the Light himself, John faithfully pointed others to Christ so that they might believe. The passage reveals two responses to Jesus: rejection by the world and reception by those who believe. Those who receive Him are given the right to become children of God—not by heritage, effort, or human will, but by being born of God. This text calls believers to understand their identity in Christ and to live as faithful witnesses who reflect His Light in a dark world.
Big Idea
God sends witnesses to point people to Christ, and all who believe in Him are born of God and become His children.
